Exciting times. Today I took delivery of my brand new Skutt Kiln. Steve and I spent the afternoon building it and organising the studio to accommodate it; now it’s all ready and I’m itching to get going. It’s currently performing it’s test firing and I hope to start using it tomorrow. My kiln has always been the bottleneck in my production as I couldn’t fit much work in it; I can now fire twice as much at once which will increase my efficiency.
I will also be able to fire to stoneware temperatures which is something I have always wanted to start with.
The delivery couldn’t have come at a better time, in the run up to christmas the extra space will prove invaluable.
